Well, apparently according to gameinformer, Blizzard has decided to split starcraft II into 3 games called: Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm, and Legacy of th Void.
The games will be released in that order, and each game is for 1 of the 3 races: wings being for terrans, swarm being for zergs, and legacy being for the protoss. All 3 games together will feature over 90 missions. Also multiplayer which will be released with wings of liberty will feature all three races so you wont have to worry about waiting for the other games to be able to use all 3 races on battle.net.
I myself dont like this announcement because most likely we will have to pay around $30 dollars for each game, which will be a huge strain on my wallet. What do you guys think?

Sounds kinda lame to me... Is the first game like the base game and then the additonal ones just expansion packs? (kinda like Starcraft I if I remember right...)
Also, is there any estimate on time spacing between each release.. like are they all coming out at the same time or will there be a year between each game being released...?
I think its a bad idea, unless the overall price is going to be the same as one game would be... If the overall price is way more then it seems like they are just robbing us... just like if they split Warcraft 3 into 4 games, there is no reason for it...

Yes, i too think its just a plot by Activision Blizzard to get more money which is upsetting that they would do this. To answer your question they will be realeased 1 after the other, although i dont know how long the time period between each release is.
Also from what ive heard the 3 games pretty much will be equal in terms of content, except for as i mentioned, the first will include full battle.net play that may also have a fee. I asked a Blizzard rep about that the other day and they said they were still discussing it so hopefully it wont be a monthly thing like wow or else this is shaping up to be a terribly expensive game.

well if its only 30$, its fine, 90 missions its huge, at least they give u good content, and the lore would probly be great. However, if its 50+, its bullnuts.
I think most ppl will buy only 1 and play on bnet, srly most ppl dont do campaign much
