So, I was thinking about the way things on the forum have been going... and it hasn't been going too well. Usually when something starts to die down, you need to add something that will catch the eyes of people and give us all a boost of confidence.
If you have any additional suggestions to get this boost, then feel free to post them!
I had an idea that I have thought about for awhile now:
The point of The Immortal Bros is to help people, but right now people don't seem to need a whole lot of 'help' when it comes to warcraft 3... What if we made a new Board (and category probably) that is titled something like "Questions anonymous" And inside this new board anyone (including guests) can post questions about anything. Obviously we won't have the exact answers to every single question, but if we work together I'm sure we can come up with some solution for everything. I don't want to confuse you anymore so I am going to give an example of a thread that might be in this new board:
First post- I really hate school and I am considering dropping out, what should I do?
Second post- Well, I highly suggest not dropping out of school, it is worth the hatred in the end. Also, depending on your relationship with your parents I think you should sit them down and talk to them about how you feel, maybe they (or you) can talk to your teachers and principal about why you hate it so much. Everyone goes through school hating it, you just need to look at the positive parts of being there like friends and an education.
Third post- Yes I agree with the above post, that seems like the right thing to do. You don't want to ruin your life just because of something you don't like.
Fourth post- (same person as first) Thank you for your help, I talked to my parents and we are meeting with my principal tomorrow!
Obviously I just made that up and not everything in this new board will work out the way we hope, but it can't hurt to try to help people..
I understand that this looks something like one of those "ask nancy" columns that you hear about when people send a letter to some random person and he/she responds to it with his/her opinion. However, this is not like that because we are a forum, not a newspaper column. Because of that we can have multiple opinions thrown out there and people can debate on the right answer and we can dig deep into the question to find what the person needs.
Although guests can post it is not required for you to post a question as a guest and it is preferred for you to answer your questions as a logged in member.
I am hoping this might bring up the name of the forum more often in people's minds and hopefully get some more active members.
I plan to start this adventure later today and see where it takes us for a week or two. If you have any opinion about this idea please reply to this post. The next week or two will be a test week of this idea and then I will post back here the results of the idea, which may be "very successful" or "a huge waste of time"...
Edit-
The board is going to be at the top of the forum, above General Things, for now because it is a new board. If we decide to keep it after the test trial then we can decide where it should be permanently placed.
If you have any additional suggestions to get this boost, then feel free to post them!
