Im wondering how to unprotect a map so you can edit it like Dota Allstars or Snipers. Just curious. Not planning on it anytime soon

I hope you dont mind my input, as this topic comes up allot!
I'm not sure if this site or even Prep for that matter supports map unprotecting, seeing as they are protected for a reason.
Speaking as a Blizzard Tech, we dont support third-party applications.
But i myself am a map maker, and wouldnt like others opening my map that i have worked extremely hard at!
Ask your self, why are you unprotecting the map, and will you use it for the wrong reasons.
I will leave it up to prep to decide if he should allow the site to support map unprotecting.

Unprotectors are not supported from us, which is why you will find no links to any of them. Expanding from that, My estimate is that about 90% of the unprotectors you would find by 'googling' it, are associated with some form of a virus or other infection for your computer. If you some how get into a good map that is protected, like snipers or dota then no matter what you do to change the map around it will not be recognized as good changes by anyone on warcraft. Edited versions of MOST protected/popular maps are not popular and the person who edited them is not looked upon as a 'good' map maker. Basically, I suggest not trying anything to get into a map that isn't yours. It isn't hard to find out how people made triggers or anything else complicated inside maps, so the only reason to open a protected map is to change things in it. Just so you know, most good maps like dota and snipers are made on TFT so if you are trying to unprotect a ROC version of them it will most likely appear with no triggers or units and will be nearly impossible to edit and release again anyways Ty for asking the question though because now everyone knows the answer and we don't have to explain all of this again
