Here are some guidelines to submitting a contest that MUST be followed:
When you make a contest you are considered the Host of that contest. That is the title that people will use to refer to you when they are talking about the contest
1. The Form
When you go to make a post in this board it will bring up a form for you to fill out. Fill out as many fields as possible! Make sure you follow the instructions for each field to the right of the field.
The form may look kind of messy when you first submit it, but thats ok because that isn't the final draft of the contest page. If an administrator approves your contest then he/she will edit your post to make it look better *they will not change anything in the post other than positioning* (see post below)
2. Judges
If your not sure who you want to judge a contest then we suggest that you pm a few people requesting it and see what they say. You don't have to have administrators judging it, although the judges do have to be approved. You CAN be a judge in the contest. If you have other judges they CAN NOT JUDGE their own submission(s)! If you have a poll to judge the contest people CAN NOT JUDGE their own submission(s). Don't try to get away with it either, we can see who voted for what.
3. Rewards
The thing that stops a lot of people from hosting a contest is that they don't know what to give for rewards! Well don't let that stop you because the rewards most likely won't effect you at all!
In EVERY contest that The Immortal Bros has, there will be a first place symbol awarded to the winner. The symbol for that contest must be made BY THE HOST of the contest, the symbol must be appropriate, related in someway to the contest, and be approximately 40x40
There are other rewards that the Host to a contest must decide on. We suggest that the top 3 people of a contest receive a reward, but it is the Host's choice. For the other rewards it can be basically anything that is approved by the administration. Some examples are: + Reputation amounts, something done with the submission(s) like displayed on the website or something like that, or even something free from the Donations page on the website.
4. Deadline
Make sure that the end date of your contest is a reasonable time. You want to give your contestants enough time to make their submission(s) and submit them!
5. Submitting
All contest have a different outcome, in a mapmaking contest the Host needs to be able to get the map made, in a design contest the Host needs to be able to get the design made etc.
Well, we have put in an upload program for people to attach files to a post. It is pretty easy to use, but doesn't work for everything. It can only upload certain types of files. If you aren't sure how your contestants will upload their submission because it isn't one of those files please ask an administrator. Typically, you can just compress a file (like a map) into a .rar (need WinRaR which is on the Download board) and then upload it. Then whoever needs to open it can just uncompress it with WinRaR.
Additional stuff, if you think of anything I should add to this post please PM me. This is all I could think of, but I'm just one person
