I've read thousands of website to try to host but still can't. I hope anyone of u could give me a great description how... Please help! I have even checked the tutorial but still can't.
Just some info: Before I had a D-Link but my dad bought a new one. After he had problems fixing the wireless so he had only with a cable to get acces to internet. I tried to host and I could. Then my dad tried to fix wireless again, he fixed it with same computer so no problem with that. BUT I didn't have any access to internet on my computer and I couldn't host on my dad's computer anymore. Then a stupid computer guy fixed so I had some other bad internet, but I had access to internet. So now I'm sitting here and telling this and my dad don't know the routers name because he's stupid, and I can't host. Is there any way to see what router I use? Please help!

Lol, thanks for not being like the many other people who have this problem and just say "how do you host". Your router is most likely the problem, which you have probably already figured out To find out your router's name, look on it.... The name is labeled on it. All routers appear different, but some popular router names are: D-Link DI-624 AirPlus Xtreme G Netgear WGR614 Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Apple M8799LL/A Airport Extreme Base Station SMC SMC2804WBR Barricade Belkin F5D7230-4 US Robotics USR8054 Buffalo G54 AirStation Dell TrueMobile 2300 Microsoft MN-700 Base Station If you see any of those names, or something similar then thats probably the router name ;D That list basically goes from most popular to least popular (out of the 10 most popular )

it is The Apple one. I found it on my dad's comp. Opened ports 6112-6119 and can now host on my dads computer but not on mine . U have any idea what is the problem? We haven't been able to get same internet as my dad on my comp so that might be the problem. Dad is looking for some computer guy to fix the problem but he haven't come . I don't think u can do much more but thx alot for helping me finding my router!!

Well, I'm not sure whether it will work since your internet's are different.. But you can try unplugging the Router (power cord). Then waiting like 10 seconds and plugging it back in. Then re-open the correct ports if they aren't still setup. That should make sure dad's computer not be able to host and your computer be able to host. Only one can host at a time. **This method does risk not being able to host on either computer, not permanantly or anything but it may make it so your dad's comp can't host anymore either. *Settings will probably change when the internet guy fiddles around

It's not possible to open ports on my computer, dad have only installed the Airport Settings on his computer so I don't think its any idea. When u open Warcraft 3;Options;Gameplay there is port number 6112, should i change anything there?

no, changing that will do nothing but make the ports you open different. I guess you'll just have to wait and see what happens when the internet is fixed...

whats up guys? i havent been on in forever anyway i know how to host but..it's different for every firewall. what u basically have to do is go in ur game, go to options and gameplay. find ur port ID or whatever they call it then go in ur firewall and oppen that port/allow it (same thing) if you do it right u should be able to host

Srry I hadn't even heard of that antivirus program... Try shutting the program down (completly disabling the firewall etc.) and see if you can host. If you still can't then we know that program isn't the problem, or at least isn't the only problem.

there is no 'shutting it down' you have to take it off comp for it to not work...wtf.

The guide that noobpredator wrote that teaches you how to host would probably solve your problem because when you put ur ip address in the address bar it takes you to your routers management page. You can open ports or just disable the whole firewall there. im talking about This guide.
