Where are you saving the map? You need to save it in a folder that Warcraft acceses, like Scenario, Downloads, etc.
You cant load a map on wc3 that is saved to desktop or something like that because wc3 is designed to search and show the maps that it has in its directory.

O i think I just realized what your problem might be. It is there, but you just dont see it. When you say it doesnt show up, you mean you can't find it in the list i assume. Well, do you know how to change the name of the map? When you save it, you are just changing the Saved name, not the Map name. So it would appear as Untitled Map 1 or something like that. To change the map name go into Scenario at the top, then Map Description, then you can make the map name there.

hm, Have you tried testing with just a blank map? Try Opening a new map, changing the name to something like TEST!!!!, save it as w/e in an easy to find folder, then try to find in with wc3. That will tell us whether it is something in the maps themselve or if it is something with your computer.
Also, are you able to play maps that you get from custom games? like a hero wars or something like that.

darn. have you tried this with multiple maps? Like edit a wintermaul, test to see if you can see it. Then edit some other non-protected map, test to see if you can see it. Cause there are protectors out there that make it so you Can edit it, but cant play it after you edit it...
Also, you said I assumed you meant you made your own map.. but it looks more like you edited a map, saved it, edited it, didnt work. Try the blank map thing again, but put a few units in it and test that.
There are 2 things to test if you havent already done them, I will think of another way to figure out what is wrong while u do those. Also, what map have you been trying to edit?

One more suggestion before I leave (won't be back till late tonight), try reinstalling warcraft III, but when it asks whether you want to keep the files or not make sure you keep them. This will get out anything that may have disrupted wc3 before. Mabey during your first instalation process something messed up and it didnt install a certain file... I'll reply back to your response when I get back tonight
