Welcome to the The Immortal bros. forums! If this is your first forum read this throughly, watch others post, and think before posting. If this isn't, kindly read through this and figure out how we operate here.
This is the n00b's guide to the forums , the point of this topic is so that there will be no more n00b topics, or repeating of the same thing 20 times for that matter.

------------------------------REGISTRATION-----------------------------------
Alright registering isnt to hard for most people but say your somehow having a hard time with it then read the following.

To register look for the register button at the top of the page, under the immortal bros logo:

click it and it will take you to a screen with the following feilds, all are required to be filled in.

-Username: what you do here is put in a name that you will use to log on to the forums, it will be the name other forum members recognize you by unless you go type somthing different in the display name box in your modify profile page (more on that later).

-Password: Here you make up a password you use to login, it should not be the same as your warcraft password or paswords used on any other sites.

-Password: (again) Here you just put in the password you typed in the last box, no bigge.

-Email: Here you put in your email adress so that an activation key can be sent to it to activate your forum account, so say that my email is goaway1 so here i put goaway1@AOL.com (It doesnt have to be your AOL account use whatever company this email adress is from such as yahoo, Hotmail, etc.)

-email: (again) type in the same email you did on the last box.

-Hide email: check yes if you dont want other memebers to see your email adress, check no If you want it to be visible on your posts and profile.

-Birthday: Pick the month, day, and year you were born, We required that you enter your birthday as to comply with US Law.

-Show Age: Selecting "No" will hide your birthday and age from any non-staff members of this forum

-Security Check: Ok here we have a funny looking picture with numbers and letters in it, type in the letters and numbers you see in the box from left to right, this check is case sensitive so all letters must be capitalized when typed in. This check is here to make sure that advertisment bots dont register and spam the forums with Advert posts, we already have enough Ads as it is we dont need more.

At the bottom check *I Agree* (unless you dont agree in which you arnt welcome here) Then click Create Account.

------------------------------POSTING------------------------------------------
-Making a new topic

Ok so say that you want to talk about one of The Immortal brothers' games well the you would go to the Warcraft III section and click General look to see If somone has already created a thread (topic) about the game If they havnt then click one of the 2 buttons on the right side of the page that looks like this:

After you have done that you will be taken to a confusing looking page:

-Subject: In the subject box type in what you want the title of the topic to be, in this case the name of the custom game.

-Message icon: Then there is a *message Icon* dropdown menu, these are little icons that go next to the subject that you can put for example if you want to compliment the game you could choose the *thumbs up* icon and a picture of a thumbs up will be next to the subject.

-Add Tags: these are a series of buttons for when clicked, modify the apearence of text by adding codes into your post, if you are unfamiliar with these dont use them because you dont really have to use them unless you want to pimp out your post (Im not going to explain these because some of them would take up several pages of explanation)

-Add Smilies: ahh good old smilies, simply click them and they will be added into your post

-Message: Here is where you write what you want to say, you can add images in here, (see signature section below) and links (see Links section). videos cannot be posted in this section or on any part of the forum, if you would like to share the video post the link to the video here, you can hyperlink it if you want, or just type it out and make us copy and paste it.

-disable smilies: If this box is checked, smiley emoticons will be disabled in your message.

finnaly when you are done you can press the post button, which will post your thread on the forums, or you can press preview to preview what your post is going to look like, you can press spell check to spell check your post so you dont end up looking like a retard spelling everything wrong, or you can press reset which will erase everything you have typed in.

Alright so say you are looking at a thread and want to give your opinion on what the poster or a replier has said, well then you click the reply button:

It is located on the top and bottom right side of the page.
The page that pops up is pretty much exactly the same as the page that pops up when you press new thread so look up regarding how to post.

NOTE: If you are going to reply or make a new thread please login, or else prep and g00f will get pissed at you, loging in helps especially if you are asking for help on the technical forum so do us all a favor and LOG IN SO WE DONT HAVE TO FLAME YOU ABOUT IT! >:(

If you would like to put a link in your post then simply use this format:

[Url]adress goes here[/url]

If you would like your links to be a custom message like t his then use this format:

[Url=adress goes here]word(s) go here[/url]

To do the next things such as avatars and signatures you have to first be logged in and click the profile button:

then on the next page click modify profile:

Alright so your avatar is the picture that is on the top left side of your post,these images are supose to be small.

On your modify profile page under personal info You clan click the avatar dropdown box and pick one of the dumb preset avatar pictures such as a dog or a devil.

However, if you want your avatar to be a picture that you have then there is also a Avatar URL: box. What you do here is put the URL of the picture in here.

Under that there is a Avatar width and avatar height box, this forum has the heigh and width set to a very small setting so even if your picture is a 100x100 it will apear smaller then that, to fix this you type in the height and width of your image in these boxes, pretty easy. Keep in mind that avatars are supose to be small images so please dont make your avatar size bigger then 100x100 or I will beat you with a sack of frozen oranges >:(

-------------------------------SIGNATURES (sig)------------------------------

Alright a signature is a sort of *footnote* that goes at the end of every post you make in the forums, it was mainly entended to be for text but most forum users put a pictue of some sorts instead (me included) The box were you put the code for your signature is located on you modify profile page which is reached by presing the [profile] button at the top of the forum under the Immortal Bros. logo.

If this guide seems confusing to you or you dont know what a hosting website is then check out noob predators guide its devoted to making signatures and getting them hosted.

*HOW TO INSERT IMAGES IN YOUR SIGNATURE BOX AND THE BODY OF THE POST*

1. Get the image URL. This is crucial, you need a WEB ADRESS, not a HARD DRIVE ADRESS. (e.g. http://www.internetsite.com/mypic.jpg , not C:/program files/my pictures/mypic.jpg)

1a. If the image does not have a URL, use Imageshack . or host it by yourself through Yahoo's geocities, or any other webhosting service.

2.

Code:
[IMG]INSERT URL HERE[/IMG]

For example:
[IMG]http://uk.geocities.com/gorillazunderground/jasoncoxbiopic.jpg[/img]

Gives you:

*HOW TO TEST YOUR SIG WITHOUT ANNOYING PEOPLE/BEING A N00B*
1.Change your sig.
2.Check one of your older posts and look at your sig that way.
2b. If you are newly registered, participate in an intelligent discussion, and do steps 1-2

NOTE: MAKE SURE THE URL IS ONLY IN THE [IMmG] TAGS, NOT ANYTHING ELSE, HTML TAGS DO NOT WORK ON FORUMS.

*HOW TO RESIZE YOUR SIG IN PHOTOSHOP*
(note, Paintshop Pro is very similar)
1. Select the whole image using the "Select" tool. (it looks like a box with dotted lines)
2. Go to "Transform" and from the drop-down menu select "Scale"
3. Using the arrows, bring your image down to size. (to do this proportionally, hold the "shift" key)

If you are going to post an image and it is too big please resize it using the method above so you dont kill so much bandwith.

-Please dont double post, just edit your first post to add somthing in by using the modify button on the top right hand side of your post:

-Also this board has a nice spell check feature so use it before you post!

-Please post your topic in the correct subforum depending on the subject or else the topic will be moved into the correct subforum, please dont make a topic about somthing that has already been discussed and already has its own thread, if you do the topic will be deleted or trashed.

-Finally, If you wanna see how your post is gonna look if you put somthing *special* in it like pictures, .gifs (moving pictures) special fonts, Hyper links and tables use the preview button to save yourself the embaressment of having you post full of codes and me laughing at you.

Very Good. Nice tutorial, I forgot about ImageShack, I think it is easier then photobucket. Neway good job.

I'm not sure what ... but I think it needs more :-/

It is good, but it seems like it doesn't really help the "noobs" out much.

-Maybe avatars are easy (i don't remember, its been a few months) but maybe explain those.
-Even going through the registration process might be a good add on, like step by step.. cause there are "noobs" out there that don't know what it really means by "password" (does it mean my warcraft password, my email password?? what does it want!)
-"If you wanna see how your post is gonna look if you put something special..." I understand what you mean by that part, however, being the n00bs guide... they might not even fully understand what it means to "post"
-You may want to mention something about logging on before you post too.... I have had about 6 different people just throw in posts without even registering (annoying!)
-There are other little things too, but I can't think of it all

Sorry if I'm a little critical... It is good though.

Well I guess I did the same to you in the halo topic so its alright prep. Ill be sure to add in everything you said too (pm if you have more) I just didnt add them previously because I had figured that new members would understand the basics of the forum such as registration, passwords, posting, etc. So ill get to work on it thx for the suggestions

IT IS 250% BETTER!
I Love it!

We will go back into it with a spell check eventually, but they arent a big deal at all.

2 things, that aren't tooo important:

I really would prefer if people didn't think we would be stealing their accounts... :-/

2. Now this one isn't important, I just realized that you showed your e-mail in one of the pictures of your profile. I don't know if you care, cause I don't. I just don't know if you wanted your e-mail hidden or something from people other than staff.

Ok it could have been better and i guess the new one is a little better then the old lol. I think newbs know what a profile is prep lol. Nah it's awesome magma good job.

You would think that pred ..... but I have been asked by at least 10 different people in different forums and things, ask how they change their password, or even how to look at their profile......

haha thanks again, i find it funny that you telling me to take stuff off now lolz. anyways i dont mind my email being right there so its ok, Ill fix it up again (glad there isnt an edit count on these boards

) Ill add some sections in the future maybe.
